If you are using Facebook Messenger and getting the OBJ error then it means you have entered a special character that Facebook can’t able to decode it. The OBJ is the shorthand for “Object Replacement Character”.
This is a placeholder when you enter a character or an emoji but the program can’t recognize it then it appears as a box or a question mark. There are multiple ways to remove OBJs from any social media app including Facebook.
- Just highlight the character and press the return or backspace key.
- You can try to use another browser or relaunch the application to fix the problem.
- If you are using an application or software, then make sure to update the application to the latest version.
- You can avoid using third-party keyboards. Sometimes third-party keyboards are not fully optimized.
- Update your device software. Sometimes some applications add new emojis that your device fails to understand. Because not all operating systems are updated at the same time.
The OBJ in text messages is very annoying and creates a bad user experience. If none of these OBJ removal methods are worked then try switching your device. If you have any questions regarding OBJs then ask me in the comment section.
