When the COVID-19 set in, there were a lot of businesses which closed down due to the criticality of the situation at the time and to prevent the virus from spreading further. While this was happening there were also quite a lot of businesses which had to remain open. These were the Essential businesses.
About Essential Business
During such worldwide crises the local governments all around the world labeled certain types of businesses as “Essential”. This included the health care facilities, grocery outlets, cable, gas, and telephone stations.
Now, this might make you wonder what qualifies as Non-Essential business then? Well, these businesses provide something which are still beyond the basic necessities. Some instances of such type of businesses would be general recreation, entertainment or retail goods.
Did This Separation Have Any Impact On The Businesses?
It certainly did! There are a lot of small-scale businesses which fall under either of these categories. For instance, while a newly opened restaurant suffered closure of non-essential businesses, the essential ones (grocery) stores might have struggled to upkeep with the demands of customers.
