Meta Threads is a platform that has been launched by the parent of Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook – Meta, back on 5th of July this year.
Threads is a conversation app which is text-based and was built by the same team who were also responsible for creating Instagram.
How Does It Work?
The account that a user creates on Threads is directly related to their Instagram account. The users of Threads need to sign up through their Instagram account.
There are a whole lot of settings in this application like – restricting users, blocking and also hiding words which are synced between the two platforms (Insta and Threads).
If it so happens that a user does not like the Threads application then they can decide to deactivate their account as well. The users get to see content from only the accounts which they follow both on the Threads and Instagram apps. They would also be able to see recommended content as well.
Are Threads And Twitter Similar?
The Threads app is really similar to Twitter when it comes to its basic features and user interface. The users of Threads can make both comments and posts in response to the made posts. Just like Twitter they are also going to be able to heart. quote and repost them as well!
Both of them have their fair share of differences as well. For instance, the platform of Threads does not display any trends like the Twitter does. The former also does not support keyword searches as of yet.
